What packages do Community Fibre broadband offer?

Community Fibre offer five different packages, neither of which require you to have a landline so you can save money every month. The five packages are:

Package

Speed (download and upload)

Router (included)

Superfast

Up to 50Mbps

Mesh Velop (dual band)

Ultrafast

Up to 150Mbps

Mesh Velop (tri band)

Hyperfast

Up to 400Mbps

Mesh Velop (tri band)

Gigafast

Up to 1Gbps (1000Mbps)

2x Mesh Velop (tri band)

3 Gigafast

Up to 3Gbps (3000Gbps)

WiFi 6 Zyxel

The one thing that makes Community Fibre stand out between a lot of other FTTP providers, is the fact that with all of their packages, the upload speeds match the download ones. All packages come with a free Mesh router, which provide a stronger and wider-reaching signal than standard routers. Installation is free on all packages apart from 3 Gigasfast.

All of the above packages are available on a 1-month rolling contract, or 12 or 24-month fixed contract. A setup fee applies for all 1-month rolling contracts as well as the 3 Gigafast package. Setup is completely free on Superfast, Ultrafast, Hyperfast and Gigafast packages on a 12-month or 24-month contract.

Can I get Community Fibre broadband where I live?

If you don’t live in London, no. If you do live in London, then maybe. Currently Community Fibre can connect people already in the following areas of London: Brent, Camden, City of London, Croydon, Ealing, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and Westminster. Of course they plan to expand their network, but with the more complex installation of FTTP (fibre to the premises) broadband, it takes longer to roll out to other areas than traditional broadband or fibre broadband.

How can I set up My Community Fibre broadband package?

All of the Community Fibre packages are FTTP (fibre to the premises), which means that you will almost certainly need an engineer to come and set it up for you. The installation involves the placing of cables and equipment in your home and in your local community, however installation is completely free if you choose a 12-month or 24-month contract. An installation fee applies on any 1-month rolling contract, and on all 3 Gigafast packages.

What are the good bits about Community Fibre broadband?

·

  • Extremely high speeds, which are equal for both uploads and downloads
  • Free set top box and an affordable monthly addon TV subscription
  • Free installation (except with Gigafast 3 package)
  • Free powerful Mesh router
  • No landline required
  • Free mobile app
  • Excellent ratings on Trustpilot and elsewhere online

If you’re one of the few people who live in the handful of London boroughs who are already connected to Community Fibre, then this is probably the best choice out there now for full FTTP fibre broadband. The price is competitive, uploads are as fast as downloads and there’s free installation on four of their 5 packages when you sign up to a 12-month or 24-month contract.

If you value high internet speeds and don’t like the additional setup and installation costs that come with them, then Community Fibre broadband is a no-brainer. There are also other benefits such as the addon TV subscription, and mobile app that will let you watch TV on the go. You don’t need the added monthly expense of a landline, and downloads are truly unlimited, meaning there will be no unexpected charges at the end of the month. We say if you’re eligible and the price is right, then go for it.
